Honouring the hearing impaired student from Jyoti Badhir School in Bithoor for her achievement in the drawing competition was an event which lingered in my mind even after the event was over. When I saw her standing proudly with her work of art, it was not just humbling; I was inspired.
Her drawings expressed emotions that would never be expressed with words. At that instant, I didn’t see limitation; I saw courage, creativeness, and strength. Her pride in her work and warmth through her smile led me to appreciate the importance of encouragement to every child.
These children have huge potential locked inside them, and when their potential is identified, they develop self-beliefs. Thus, at such a moment, one is forced to think and wonder how we need to create a society where we believe in inclusion and give these people a dignified life.
This experience came very close to my heart and only reinforced my philosophy of belief in generosity and support.
